I’m pleased to share my presentation of Rights-Based Existential Psychiatry (REP) and Dynamic Eclectic Existential Psychopharmacotherapy (DEEP) in the Psychiatry Team Meeting of McGill University Student Wellness Hub. This therapy concept is my article under review, which attempts to build on the premise that psychiatry must evolve beyond narrow biomedical, psychosocial, or psychoanalytic paradigms, toward an integrative, ethically grounded model that honours autonomy, meaning, and human rights. Drawing on existential philosophy, human rights, and humanistic values, as well as pluralistic and eclectic therapeutics, DEEP Therapy seeks to reimagine the therapeutic relationship as a space of shared reflection, responsibility, and possibility. This work is part of a broader, ongoing project, and I welcome your reflections, critiques, and conversations. DEEP Therapy, as a novel integrative model, warrants evaluation in future clinical studies (particularly for depression, anxiety, trauma-related, and personality-based vulnerabilities). I hope it may find a place in your research agendas or collaborative inquiries.
